Sandal Making Workshop

Sandal Making Workshop

Join us in my new studio upstairs in Oriel Makers, Cardiff for this introduction to designing and making your own bespoke leather sandals.

Using basic tools, you will be walked through the steps to creating a pair of well fitted shoes that you can be proud of. The best thing about this workshop is that you will leave with all the skills necessary for making sandals again at home using easily accessible tools and equipment.

Nia will be bringing a few key designs along to the workshop which you will be working from to create your own sandals. From these patterns you will cut your uppers and soles, choosing your leather from a selection of handpicked colours and weights. Soles will be made from flexible 4mm compact rubber soling material.

If you are unable to make any of the listed dates, I also offer a weekday sandal making class for two or more people at £110 each. Scroll down to ‘weekday sandal making’ on the ‘workshops’ page to see the listing. This is essentially a private class so we just find a date that works for everyone.

No previous experience is necessary but this workshop is a full day and can get very tiring. Focus is required throughout the day and confidence with hand tools would be beneficial. It is an incredibly gratifying process though and the hard work is always worth it. Nia is always on hard to guide you through all the necessary steps in creating your perfect sandals.
